Obituary for Walter R. Canales

 

Loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Survived by his wife and children: Elvira, Karla, and Andrea. 

Mother: Elsa Izaguirre Tovar

Father: Santos Canales

Siblings: Adolfo, Beto, Mayra, Robin, Xiomara, Lezby, Ruby, Santos, Carlos, Jenny, Yolani, Sandra, and Mirla.

Walter was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on April 17th, 1969. Walter and his family immigrated to Ramona, California in 1985, where he later met his beloved wife, Elvira, and the mother of his two children, Karla and Andrea. Walter played semi-professional soccer in San Diego and later worked at a soccer park in Poway, California, which he considered a second home. Walter had a passion for travel, exploring many destinations all over the world. Walter was known to be a man of compassion, wisdom, humor, and strength. He was a father figure to many, wishing only the best for those whom he encountered throughout his life. Walter enjoyed restoring classic cars in his spare time and loved to collect vintage VCR movies for his children. He will always be remembered by his charm, kindness, work ethic, and giving nature.  

 

Walter was a fan of the outdoors and adored bright spring colors. In celebration of Walter’s life, let us honor him by wearing those bright colors that represent him and the fruitful life he lived.

Walter nació en San Pedro Sula, Honduras el 17 de abril de 1969. Walter y su familia emigraron a Ramona, California en 1985, donde más tarde conoció a su amada esposa, Elvira, y a la madre de sus dos hijas, Karla y Andrea. Walter jugó fútbol semiprofesional en San Diego y luego trabajó en un campo de fútbol en Poway, California, el cual consideraba su segundo hogar. Walter tenía pasión por viajar y explorar diferentes lugares del  mundo. Walter era conocido por ser un hombre compasivo,con buen sentido del humor, sabio y fuerte. Fue una figura paterna para muchos, deseando solo lo mejor para aquellos con quienes se encontró a lo largo de su vida. Walter disfrutaba de restaurar autos clásicos en su tiempo libre y le encantaba coleccionar películas de VCR antiguas para sus hijas. Siempre será recordado por su personalidad, su bondad, su ética de trabajo y sus ganas de siempre ayudar a los demás. Walter disfrutaba del aire libre y le gustaban los colores de la primavera. Para celebrar la vida de Walter, honremos su memoria vistiendo esos colores primaverales que lo representan a él y la vida que vivió.
