Thomas Edwin White

Thomas Edwin White (71) of Placentia, California, a retired Mortgage Banking Executive passed away at his home on May 31, 2022.

Tom grew up in Pendleton, Indiana, and graduated from Pendleton High School in 1968, where he starred in baseball, wrestling and track & field.  He went on to play baseball at Indiana State University and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education in 1972.  

In 1974, he married Joyce Elizabeth McDade, a graduate of St. Mary’s of the Woods. They moved to Southern California in 1976, where Tom went on to become President & CEO of two of the largest Mortgage Banking subsidiaries in Southern California, and raised three outstanding children: LTC Ean Patrick McDade White (44), Erin Elizabeth White Freimann (43), and Evan Thomas McDade White (42). They in turn provided Grampie with five loving Grandchildren:  Thomas Ean White (17), Teagan Nicole White (13), Ella Joyce Elizabeth Freimann (12), Davis Ryan Freimann (10), and Fletcher Thomas Freimann (8), along with awesome in-laws in son Ryan David Freimann and daughter Leanna Nicole White.

Tom played organized baseball until he was 43 years old and, as a lifelong golfer, was a member of Alta Vista Country Club for 34 years, where he happily lived on the 8th Fairway.

In addition to his immediate family mentioned above, Tom is also survived by his brother, Jerry James White (Johana) of Newburgh, Indiana, and sister, Tamra Sue White Chadwick (Gary) of Pendleton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard & Betty White and his sister Vicki Lynn White Hall.

He has written a book about his life and the history of the White Family to be passed on to his children and grandchildren and whomever else would enjoy reading about his life (please speak with his daughter Erin if you are interested).

A Funeral Mass will be held on June 16, 2022 at 12pm at St. Norbert Catholic Church (300 E. Taft Avenue, Orange, California, 92865). A celebration of his life will immediately follow at Alta Vista Country Club (777 Alta Vista Street, Placentia, California, 92870).

Tom will be honored with songs he requested, and hopes those that knew him will join in sharing favorite stories and memories, and to laugh, cry, and honor such a wonderful person who will be so greatly missed.
