Sandra was, what most people would call, troubled. She had a difficult past, that wasn’t a secret. She moved through life with a burden to carry, but she did so with a strong heart. Yes, she made mistakes. We all make mistakes, but she tried so hard to make them better. Nothing held her back. She was willful and full of fight and light. She had this way of making everyone around her smile. This magnetism that pulled everyone to her. When the mood and the right song hit, she was up and dancing. Making sure to bring you along for the ride. If she was dancing, chances are, you would be too. Sandra was like a thunderstorm, dark and chaotic, with flashes of light that just lit up the room and the people around her. She had a light inside her that just absolutely refused to be extinguished. Her smile and laughter were contagious. No matter the situation, no matter what she may have been going through or thinking, she never let that part of her fade. She also made damn sure that her kids never lost their smiles for too long. Her tenacity would shine through in that.

While there were moments of disappointment and heartache, she made sure to never let it take over or define her in any way. She had plenty of reasons to keep strong. Her children were her main inspiration and motivation for her strength and determination. They never lost faith in her and so she had everything to live and fight for. With memories full of laughter and late nights, her children remember her with hearts full of love and understanding. Nothing could ever take that away. Sandra made sure that little moments had a big impact on her children. From late night comedy shows like FRIENDS with Kimberly, on the couch half asleep to reading a joke book as a bedtime story with Albert, no moment or memory is too small. Words of encouragement and growth would help her connect with her eldest son, Andrew. She told him to keep his head up, no matter the situation and taught him that his siblings should always come first. Sharing simple, sweet moments like this is what Sandra had with each of her kids. She taught them that whatever may happen, whatever is being done or said, they needed be there for each other. Even if all they needed was a shoulder to lean on. That is why the five of them are so strongly connected. Because their mother, Sandra, gave them the love and inspiration to do so completely. Sandra was and always will be loved. She is missed.
