Nugent Charles Robinson
On January 11, 2021 Nugent Charles Robinson, 73, entered Heaven's gate after a one month battle with corona virus. He was born in Clarksfield AFB, Philippines to Elena de Guzman Robinson and Lani S. Robinson on September 2, 1947. Soon after, Nugent’s father received transfer orders and Nugent with his family found themselves moving to the United States. Nugent spent most of his childhood in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Irvin High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted and entered the United States Marine Corp proudly serving his country in active and in reserve status. He was deployed to Viet Nam in 1967 at the age of 19 and assigned to 3rd Battalion 9th Marines H&S Co. 106 Platoon. He is the recipient of the Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation and Navy/Marine Unit Commendation. While in active service he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He received an Honorable Discharge in June 1972. In 1970, he married his wife MaryAnne Caigoy of El Paso. They moved to Southern California where he worked for Southern California Gas Co and later the United States Postal Service where he retired after 28 years of service in 2005. Nugent enjoyed the company of friends and family. While he was known for his conversations, stories and life lessons, friends and family would come to visit for his beans, tri tip, and fried rice. But most importantly he was known for his generosity and kindness to all. His world was his family who he loved, cared and protected with all his being.
Nugent is preceded in death by his father, mother, his brothers Albert, Lowell and Patrick.
He is survived by his wife MaryAnne and their children: sons Chuck (Sara) and Doug (Stacie), daughter Anne-Marye Ymzon (Damian), grandchildren Devin, Miya, Grace, Colin, Cecilia, Xavier, Isaac, Silas, Ronin and his brothers Ben, Reynie, Ollie, Lani, Earl.
