Mary Geraldine Kucaba Obituary

Mary “Mimi” G. Kucaba (Nee Hammerman), age 91, passed away on Tuesday March 18, 2025.

Mimi was preceded in death by James F. Kucaba, her husband of  62years, their five Beagles (their “furry children”),  her parents Elizabeth & Michael Hammerman of Oak Park, Illinois and her 5 sisters and brother.  She is survived by 30+ nieces and nephews and all of their children & grandchildren from all over the country.

Mimi was known for her quick wit and unending desire to be her own person. She & Jim were founding members of St. Norbert’s Church in Orange, and devoted ministers throughout their time there.  Mimi & Jim lived in Orange since 1965 and were loved by many friends & neighbors.

She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at St. Norbert’s Church at 10:00 am to be followed by shared interment w/Military Honors for James at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Norbert Church Tuition Assistance Fund or The Pink Journey Foundation (Breast Cancer Research) would be greatly appreciated.
