Mark Stephen Hughes “Stevie”, 56, in Orange County, CA, passed away on February 9, 2021.

Mark was born on October 19, 1964 to Charlie and Harvetta Hughes in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Jordan High School LA, and continued his education to earn his Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from DeVry University.

Mark was married to Stephanie on July 10, 1993 – They had three wonderful children.

Mark is survived by Stephanie, Stephen (son-29), Joshua (son-26), and Erin (daughter-24).  He is also survived by his brothers Lindsay, Michael, Johnathan, Alvin and Joey and sisters Willett (94), Bernice (84), Vivian, Sharon, Cathy, Priscilla and Amy. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and his dearest best friend Alvin Cleveland (since kindergarten of 50 years) and many other dearest close friends.

Mark, is preceded in death by Charlie Hughes (Father), Harvetta Hughes (Mother) and Philip Hughes (Brother)

Mark worked as a VP of Information Technology for Valley Fruit & Produce over 28 years. Mark enjoyed watching basketball and football. His all-time favorite teams are the Lakers and Raiders. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing dominos, fishing, reading and listening to music.

He was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.  Mark had the ability to show his love for those he was around at all times.   He loved people and always wanted the best for everyone.  Mark was one of the most loyal, giving and selfless men that you could meet.  If you were part of his family or a friend, you know what that means.  Mark’s loyalty and love was also shown through his extended family at Valley Fruit & Produce for 28+ years.  Marks smile and presence would light up a room as he was one of the gentlest purest souls. He was kind, understanding, and patient and not with only family and friends, but to complete strangers too. He was a great example of who we should strive to be when it comes to treating others. Mark made an impacted on everyone that he crossed paths with. As many of us can share stories and memories on how he made personal sacrifices, encouraged and loved us. Mark would want for us to continue to move forward and be the best we can be.  We will always remember his love, encouragement, sacrifice and laughter.
