Maria Del Socorro (Magallanes) Haro Obituary

Maria Haro, age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. She was born on April 23, 1951, in La Joya, Momax, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend. Maria leaves behind three children- Alma, Bianca, David and seven grandchildren she adored- Adrian, Olivia, Lionel, Elías, Julián, Dominic, and Omar.

Prior to Maria becoming ill and having limited mobility she enjoyed going shopping, taking her children out for breakfast, cooking for loved ones and socializing with family and friends. Unfortunately, the last few years Maria spent her time in a care center facility. Although her way of life changed, she did not allow that to affect her and continued to remain happy and positive. Her children and grandchildren visited her often and she was able to proudly attend major life milestones such as weddings, birthday parties, and holiday celebrations.

Maria had a way of gaining everyone’s love and friendship. She made friends easily, in and out of the facility, with her charming and charismatic personality. She cared for others deeply and took the time to get to know everyone. Maria never failed to put a smile on everyone’s face. From her room requests to food requests, she always managed to win people over with her caring heart and humorous personality. She managed to befriend everyone she met regardless of a language barrier.

Maria’s joy came from having gifts and snacks ready to give to her grandchildren, when they visited. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved watching them sing and play outside and even connected with them through Facetime calls.

Her family is grateful she had the opportunity to enjoy all of her grandchildren and enjoy the little things in life. Some of her favorite activities included watching her nightly shows and talking to loved ones over the phone. Not to mention, enjoying her favorite foods and snacks.

Throughout the latter part of her life, she struggled with many health illnesses. Though she faced many health challenges, she did not allow that to interfere with providing continuous love for her family.

Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. She taught them about strength, resilience, and optimism. For that, they will forever be grateful.

She truly had a heart of gold.

They thank the Lord for allowing her to create so many memories with them and her grandchildren.

May she Rest in Peace and reunite with her beloved husband.
