Mamie was someone who always embodied strength, courage, and selflessness. She is a proud immigrant who dedicated her American dream to being a mother. While leaving Lebanon was bittersweet, America brought her possibilities that were not available to her in Lebanon. She married the love of her life, Michael Mosham, and had eight children, all in a span of thirteen years. She constantly said that she would do it all over again. She, in fact, did do it all over again, as she played a vital role in the upbringing of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The positive imprint Mamie left on them is one that can never be forgotten or replaced.
When Mamie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Type II Diabetes, it was time for the family to step in to help. This was easy for them to do, since they learned selflessness from her. Although it was hard for Mamie to not be the one taking care of her family, she did so without realizing. She constantly made sure that everyone was taking care of themselves before they took care of her. She always lived her life for her family.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Michael, of sixty-five years; eight children, Michele (Tommy), George (Reema), Linda, Johnny (Michelle), Nancy, David (Vanessa), Mary, and Michael (Dawn); twelve grandchildren, Peter (Mandy), Steven (Tiffany), Jennifer, Lauren, Jaclyn, Marie, Elena, Alex, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Andrew, and the newest addition, Tatiana Mamie; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, SJ, Mason, Declan, and Owen; and two brothers, George and Monsour.
May her memory be eternal!
