Heaven gained an Angel, Lupe Ida Savastano on September 4, 2024. Lupe transitioned from this world peacefully in her home. Though our hearts ache we know she is no longer in pain and imagine she was greeted in heaven by the love of those we know she missed dearly. Lupe lived a life full of love. She was brought into this world on November 4, 1937. She was the daughter of Pedro and Soledad Rodriguez, Natives of Zacatecas, Mexico. Lupe and her siblings; Margarita, Mary, Anita, Jenny, Tony, Charlie, Pete and Richard were raised in Los Angeles, California. She married the love of her life, the late Vincent James Savastano on February 28, 1959. They were married for 37 years and their love created the beginning of most beautiful family that Lupe cherished most out of life. Together Vincent and Lupe raised their children Sabrina, Luis and the late Ralph, Dominic and Rocco in Glendale and Santa Ana California. Lupe had a big heart and was passionate about serving the less fortunate. She worked for Catholic Charities as a program outreach director, serving the community of Santa Ana for over 20 years. She was a self taught artist and loved painting. Her paintings decorated many of the walls of her home and were her families favorite gifts to receive from her. She loved crafting, crocheting, shopping, traveling, playing Rummikub, dining out and spending time with her family and dogs Buddy and Bella. She was a loving and devoted grandmother and great grandmother who loved celebrating and making the holidays and birthdays special for her family. Lupe is survived by her daughter Sabrina, son Luis, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who will miss her with all their heart. She was the strength and heart of her family and her life will always be honored for the blessing she was to us all. Please see the services below where Lupe's family and friends will gather September 18, 2024 to celebrate her life with a memorial mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Santa Ana and Graveside services at Holy Sepulcher in Orange where we will listen to mariachi music and release butterflies in her Honor.
