Louis Hand Obituary

Louis Hand "Poppy or Papa Lou" as known by his grandchildren, age 87 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021. Louis was born in Reedley CA. He attended Roosevelt High School in Fresno CA, where he participated as a trumpet player in the marching band. After high school he joined the US Navy where he served honorably as a radar operator aboard the USS Oriskany. In 1967 he moved to the City of Orange with his family. He spent many years working for Beckman Instruments as a computer programmer. While living in Orange he volunteered as a Little League coach, Scoutmaster, and with various other organizations. He enjoyed all manner of sports especially Angels Baseball and Ducks Hockey. An avid golfer, he spent his later years playing golf and working in the golfing industry. He is survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family. Services will be private.
