Lillian Lucille Ghostley

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, Lillian “Lucy” Ghostley, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at the age of 78. 

Lucy was born on September 29, 1941 in Orange, CA to Edwin and Catherine Wingate. She was married to Thomas Ghostley and she had three children, Janet, Rodney Jr., and Matthew. 

Lucy loved her family abundantly.  She never missed an event, whether it was a birthday party, a dance recital, or wedding.  She had many nieces and nephews, and they all thought they were her favorite because she made each one of them feel so special.  But perhaps her most memorable trait was her sense of humor.  Lucy was constantly cracking jokes and calling herself “the funny one” of The Aunts.  She shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters, one that inspired the rest of the family, and she loved hosting her sisters for family time. 

Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom, mother, Catherine, father, Edwin, and brother, Donald.  She is survived by her sisters, Delores, Susan, Beverly, and Barbara, her children, Janet Wright and husband Jeffrey, Rodney Mills, Jr. and wife, Deb, and MatthewMills, her grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, and Natalie, and her great grandchildren, Landen, Noah, Hudson, and Ryder.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1st, at noon at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, in Orange, CA.
