Leticia Herrera Medici Obituary
It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of Leticia Herrera Medici (Letty) at the age of 86 on October 15, 2025, at Loma Linda University Medical Center after facing serious medical conditions.
Her remarkable life started on July 24, 1939 on the island of Camiguin in the Philippines. At age 19, her sister Remy was stricken with a terminal illness and Letty had to leave the Philippines alone and come to the United States to raise her sister's three children. She later married their father Felix Medriano and they had one daughter. After Felix passed away she eventually married Pete Medici and they had three children. They raised seven children altogether and after 52 years of marriage Pete passed away in 2017.
Living a life of humility and devotion she dedicated her life to her family and children. She worked tirelessly in the packing sheds in Salinas, California and rose to the level of supervisor. In 1986 the family moved to Orange County where she spent many years working and volunteering for the Eli Home for Abused Children, touching many lives with her caring tenderness. After Pete's passing, she spent her final years retired in Corona, happily living with her daughter Kimberly and her family.
She will always be remembered for the laughter she brought into our lives through her gentle humor, kind heart, and her selfless spirit. She was warm and soft spoken and had a beautiful way of making everyone feel loved and cared for, with full bellies and never without rice. All of her dishes were home cooked with love and passion. She would spend night and day cooking and baking for the ones she loved. When her family misses the love that she provided, they can always turn to these dishes to remember her and feel her spirit.
God's hand was always evident in her life after surviving several serious illnesses and surgeries. She was a praying woman and knew it was her Lord Jesus who brought her through all of her trials and triumphs. She prayed for her children and grandchildren daily and we are truly blessed because of it.
In addition to Pete, Letty was preceded in death by two of her sons Steven and Joel. She is survived by her loving children Sandy and husband Darryll, Michael and wife Lisa, Kimberly and husband Richard, Milo and wife Irene, Lorri and husband Michael, and Natalie wife of her late son Steven; and her grandchildren Tami, Amy, Shannon, Stephanie, Christi, Marty, Mariah, Ryan, David, Amanda, Nicholas, Isabella, Sophie, and Joshua; and her great grandchildren Ellie, Kaylee, Shane, Sonny, Carter, Olivia, Annabelle, Jackson, Cayden, Trent, Evelyn, and Phoenix.
A memorial service celebrating Letty's life will be held on November 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills, California, followed by the burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery and reception at The Richland in Orange.
To you Mom, Gamma, our sorrow is profound and we will miss you dearly.
With love and gratitude.
