Leonard E Jefferson was born in Santa Ana California on April 28, 1939. He was 87 years old when he passed. He graduated from Santa Ana high school in the class of 1957. Leonard served time in the army. He returned home to complete his service in the National Guard. Then he went to work as a machinist for 40+ years at ITT Cannon in Santa Ana.

Leonard is survived by former wife Ester Roaden of Sumner, Washington, their daughter Jenelle Smith of Huntington Beach and daughter Karen Van Wert of Lake Bay Washington. Leonard was proceeded in death by son Jerry, who passed in 1979. He remarried and is survived by wife Audrey Ruse of 35 years, and her son’s Brian (Joe) Ruse of Irvine and brother Doug of Tustin.

Leonard use the skills he learned as a machinist to create. Anything he could make around the house he would. This included not just the arrows for his archery and bow hunting but a machine to make the arrows to hunt with. Leonard was a well respected member of the Santiago Park Archers. He was known for teaching younger and new archers how to shoot with a bow. He was incredibly accurate with his bow and arrows from long distance. One of his passions was hunting and fishing. Sometimes with friends, and often camping and hunting by himself. His walls at his home in Santa Ana are covered with antler trophies from his hunting conquests. He loved planting and yardwork. All the way to his late 80s rarely asking for help if he could do it himself.

Wife, Audrey and Leonard were devoted to their faith in God, as long-standing members of the Calvary Church of Santa Ana.
