Laverne Sbraccia was born on November 6, 1930, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, alongside her three brothers and three sisters. From an early age, family and faith were the foundations of her life; values she carried with her always.
Laverne met the love of her life, Paul Sbraccia, and together they shared more than 60 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering love. They lived together in Buena Park, California were their beautiful union was blessed with five daughters, ten grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.
A devoted homemaker, Laverne poured her heart into caring for her family. She also dedicated many years to teaching CCD at St. Pius V, where she lovingly helped guide countless children as they prepared to receive their First Holy Communion. Her Catholic faith was deep and steadfast, shaping the way she lived and loved.
Laverne found great joy in her monthly time with Happy Hearts, where she cherished lunches, laughter, and spirited games of Bingo. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling leagues, decorating ceramics, and playing Bunco. She always embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm.
Sunday Mass was a sacred tradition for Laverne. When she was no longer able to attend in person, she faithfully watched each service on television, her Bible close by. She carried her rosary wherever she went, and in moments of need, she would lovingly call upon Saint Anthony for help.
Laverne was deeply loved and admired throughout her life. She was a faithful daughter, a loving sister, a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished aunt, a proud Nana and Great-Nana, and a thoughtful friend to all who knew her. Her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. Laverne Catherine Sbraccia passed away in the early hours of November 30, 2025 at the age of 95.
