Kenneth Lee Zimmerman, 73, was found deceased in his home on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Huntington Beach, CA. Born December 15, 1946 in Pontiac, MI, son of John Joseph Zimmerman and Ruth Berdeen (Davis) Zimmerman, Kenneth graduated from Wilie E. Groves High School, Birmingham, MI, in 1965 where he served as a Reporter, Copy Editor and Scriptor volunteer in the Department of Journalism. Soon after graduation Kenneth moved to California where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at San Fernando Valley State College (now California State University) at Northridge, CA in June of 1970. Kenneth continued his education by completing a Master of Science degree in Public Administration at California State University, Los Angeles in 1972. After completing his Masters Degree Kenneth worked for about a year as an Administrative Analyst for the City of El Monte, CA, then for a year as an Administrative Coordinator for the City of Monrovia, CA. Kenneth then moved to a position as an Administrative Analyst for the City of Long Beach, CA, where he worked for the next 31 years before retiring. Preceded in death by his former wife, Gertrudes Y. "Heidee" Zimmerman, and their son, Dean Randolph Zimmerman, Kenneth is survived by his brother, John W. Zimmerman and grandson, Sebastian Zimmerman. Kenneth forged a name for himself as a writer of more than 38,000 letters to the editor of publications worldwide since 1987. Internment will be at an as yet to be determined date in Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ along with his parents. --
