Kathleen Patricia Salerno (nee Steinmeyer) died on May 23, 2022 in Cardiff, California. Kathy was born in New York in 1943 to parents Arthur and Patricia Steinmeyer. As a young woman, she attended Pace University and worked for Manufacturers Hanover Bank in the city. As a teenager in New York, she met the love of her life, Arthur Salerno. Kathy and Art married in the summer of 1963; They were married 45 years before Art passed away in 2008. As newlyweds, Kathy and Art were stationed in Nuremberg, Germany while Art served in the US Army. Kathy recalls their honeymoon year in Europe as one of the best times of her life. In 1977, Kathy and Art moved to Southern California where they had 2 more children, Damien and Mary Kate.
