Julie Serna, 60, passed away on 5/17/23. Born in Logan, UT., Julie’s life was full of great memories, with family adventures, camping, going to the family cabin, dance classes and graduating from Logan High School in 1981. Julie moved to Anaheim in 1982 and started her career with Disneyland. As she worked, she continued to go to school and received her Liberal Arts degree in 1992 from Cal State Fullerton. Her plan was to become a teacher, but her hard work created differentopportunities within Disney. Her last 15 years she was assistant to the president of the park and resorts. She loved her time working for Disney. She cherished the many friends made, and the fun times shared in her 40-year career, and always appreciated the professionalism and respect shown to her by all cast members.
Julie married, and during her 30 years of marriage she traveledto many countries and enjoyed experiences with her family and friends. Her laugh and personality always made everyone feel so comfortable. Even though she lived in California for most of her life, she always enjoyed going home to see her family and friends in Logan. Her greatest gift was when her daughter was born. She loved being a mother, and was always there for school functions, soccer games, softball games, cross country and track meets. She always talked about how much fun the journey was raising her daughter.
Julie is survived by her husband Mike, daughter Samantha, mother Karen, two brothers, Jeff (Chris) Olsen and Kevin(Daleen) Olsen, two brother in laws Ralph (Rebecca Smith) Serna and Anthony (Margo) Serna, along with many family members, and a long list of friends. Julie lived with passion, grace and dignity, and that was always passed on to others. She loved her family and her friends. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society. A service will be held at Old Towne Chapel (Orange), followed by a cemetery service at Holy Sepulcher, and a celebration of life at the Villa in Orange on 5/30.
