Joyce Redding

Joyce Redding passed away on March 30, 2021 of pneumonia. She was born July 16, 1946 to Jess “Jeff” and Lylas Chambers. She grew up in Los Angeles, CA with her sister Lynda and later settled in LA Mirada, CA. In 1969 she married Jerry Ashby and they had two children together, Shawnee and Ryan. In 1980 she began working at Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton, CA and worked there until retiring in 2009.

Joyce was greatly loved by her children, grandchildren Reilly and Sarah, her nieces Michelle and Karen, and all who knew her. She had a huge heart and was known to take people in to her home when needed. She loved spending time with her grandchildren especially enjoying days spent at Disneyland with them. On April 16th, 2011, she married longtime friend David Redding.  They enjoyed many trips to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Redding, her sister Lynda Schenet, and her parents Jeff and Lylas Chambers. She is survived by her son Ryan Ashby, her daughter Shawnee Corbett, Shawnee’s children Reilly and Sarah Hill, her nieces Karen Wachter and Michelle Cascio, and their children who thought of “Grandma-Aunt Joy” as their own.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 1pm at Holy Sepulcher cemetery in Orange, CA.
