José was born in Yahialica, Mexico on March 11, 1953. He passed away on January 7, 2026. Son of Marcelino Contreras Yanez and Maria Gomez Mercado. He came to this country with dreams, and a hard-working spirit. He opened his legacy of C & S automotive, in Santa Ana in 1986. He lived, and breathed, automotive repair every day since. He cultivated relationships with many customers, and people in his community. His hobbies consisted of playing guitar, singing, and writing. He had many talents as electrician, patriarch, for those who sought him, and maintenance worker. He was reliable to the best of his ability, offering a helping hand with the community and family was in need. He remained open to new activities and experiences.

Jose has survived by his eldest son; Jose Contreras, his three daughters; Candelaria Contreras, Sophia, Contreras, Natalia, Contreras, his nine grandchildren; Alejandro Contreras, Angelina Contreras, Athena Contreras, Aiden Contreras, Jacob De Leon, Leelanee Contreras, Oscar, Contreras, Vincente Contreras, his three great grandchildren; Ava Contreras, Malachi Contreras, Julissa Contreras.
