Obituary for Pop

Loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Survived by his children: Carlos, Irma, Yolanda and Anna. Grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Justin, Eddie, Claudia, Christina, Michael, Stephen and Chelsea.  Great grandchildren: Emma, Aubree, Lorenzo, Casey Jr, Oryn, Jacob and Kole.

Jose was born in Orange, California on August 29th, 1929.  He married the love of his life, Esther Cruz on September 7th, 1947. They were married for 68 years. They welcomed five children into their loving family.  He worked in construction for over 20 years, having retired at the age of 53.  During his retirement years, he kept busy by continuing to use his plumbing expertise with side jobs.  He enjoyed his trips to Ensenada, Mexico with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed excursions to Laughlin, Nevada with his wife and in his later years with his son. His favorite sport was baseball, and he was a huge Los Angeles Dodgers Fan.  He almost made it the baseball season.  Favorite TV Shows:  Gunsmoke, Wheel of Fortune; Jeopardy, The Price is Right and the Andy Griffith Show. Enjoyed westerns. Favorite food:  Carnitas, Tamales, Mexican sweet bread, lemon pie, and loved his hot sauce.

In honor of his love for baseball, please feel free to wear Dodger T-shirts or the color blue in honor of his memory and his love of the sport at his services.
