John David Pearson Obituary
John David Pearson, born February 18, 1945, at City of Angels Hospital, went to the Lord on December
21, 2025, leaving a legacy of hard work, faith, and passion for life.
He was the eldest son of John and Margaret Louise Pearson and grew up during the vibrant era of
1950s rock and roll, with a special love for Elvis Presley, whom he saw perform live twice. As a
teenager, he developed a lifelong passion for hot rods and drag racing through the influence of his
father and grandfather.
Following high school, John began his career in construction, working alongside his father building
homes for returning soldiers. He became a licensed general contractor, later owning his own company
and working in both residential and commercial construction, including fire restoration projects.
John also pursued competitive drag boat racing with the National Drag Boat Association, earning a
national third-place title in his class, Blown Gas Hydro, in the late 1980s.
John married Carrol in 1977 at the Presbyterian Church in West Newton, Pennsylvania. Together they
shared a life filled with travel, including cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Mediterranean,
as well as a love of freshwater fishing.
Later in life, John embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was baptized and
confirmed at St. Norbert Catholic Church in Orange, California. John and Carrol were united in Holy
Matrimony on July 29, 2011, at Holy Family Cathedral by Reverend Bao Thai.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Carrol; his sons, Jon Jay and Jason; and his brother,
Robert.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life.”
— John 3:16
