Jeffrey Robert Millet was born on March 11, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, to Doris Porath Millet and John Pettegrew Millet, and passed away on December 19, 2024 in Santa Ana, CA. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, Texas in June of 1962 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Art degree from North Texas State University in Denton, TX in 1967. He married Loretta Sue Dunn Millet on October 7, 1990.

Jeff was a true artist and bibliophile at heart. His artistic ambitions were evident even as a small child as he spent his spare time building intricate scenes and dioramas, with operating locomotives and moving figures, that filled entire rooms. He moved to Orange County, California in the mid 1970s, and immediately embraced the California lifestyle. During his years in California, Jeff owned and operated Graphic Publishers, a book publishing and editing company that focused on graphic design and stories of historical importance. Upon retiring from this business, Jeff continued operating The History Merchants, his company that specialized in the sale of antique books and books on western history. 

Jeff appreciated beauty in his surroundings and especially loved the history of Native Americans and the Old West. Articulate and intelligent, he could talk with deep knowledge on many subjects. He was a renowned expert and collector of Colt firearms, a love he cultivated while still a teenager. Jeff also had a love of antique automobiles having owned his first, a 1924 TT Ford flatbed, as a teenager. At the time of his death he owned a beautiful blue (his favorite color) 1965 Dodge Coronet convertible that was his pride and joy. Jeff was also an athlete, running marathons and distance races until he switched to cycling, which he continued to do until shortly before his death.  

Jeff is survived by his wife Susie, sons Brett and Brandon, daughter Stephanie, granddaughter Riley, brother John (Fay), and sister Caroline. He is predeceased by his eldest daughter Carol Lynn, and parents Doris and John Millet.

Interment will take place on January 31, 2025 at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to his favorite charity
