James Patrick Kilroy passed away at the age of 93 on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home in Orange, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Agnes Kilroy and son Timothy as well as sisters Kathleen and Rita, brothers Thomas and John, and his parents Nora and James, both immigrants from Newport, Ireland.
He is survived by his daughter Kathleen and sons John and his wife Debbie, James and his wife Barbara, Patrick and his wife Bonnie, and Michael and his wife Angie, as well as granddaughters Julia, Caitlin, Cailean, Abigail and Olivia, grandsons Jake, Matthew and Griffin, and great-grandchildren Flora, Ainsley and Kessler.
He was born in Akron, Ohio where he graduated from St. Vincent High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and later graduated with a degree in accounting from Kent State University. He moved to Orange in 1960, working for Allstate Insurance in data processing and then spent 20 years managing the computer operations at Cal Poly Pomona. He was a founding parishioner of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Orange and spent many years working with Corazón, a non-profit charity serving the needy families of Mexico.
