Isabelle Chalmers Andres, our sweet Belle, entered eternal peace to be with her beloved husband, Roy, on November 2, 2020. She was 95 years young.
Born and raised in New York, Belle attended business college and began her 11-year career as a head buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Retiring to raise her family, Belle served on the Glen Cove Board of Education for 10 years. She was devoted to bringing inclusive education to children with disabilities and was honored by the New York State School Boards Association for her work on the State Legislative Network from 1977-1980. She was commended by Governor Mario Cuomo for her long community service in 1983. Moving to Silverado, California in 1987, Belle stayed active by becoming a mediator and volunteering her services to community organizations and local schools.
Belle was predeceased by Roy, her loving husband of 47 years, and survived by children Alyson, Lynne, Roy, Jr. (Sarita), and Barbara, and grandchildren Dustin (Raina), Blake, Kelsey (Lauren), Emily, Laura (Nick), Lynsey, Mandy (Jered), and Jackson.
A graveside service for the family will be held on November 10th, while a Celebration of Life for Belle will be planned for the future when her friends and family can safely gather to share their love and memories of this amazing lady.
