It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Hermila (Mille) Rasmussen on the morning of January 24th, 2022, at the age of 73. Millie passed away at Chapman Global Medical Center in Orange, CA after a short illness. Millie was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico 1948 to Ruth (Cuca) and Magdaleno Rodriguez Sr.
Millie came to the US in early 50’s from Mexico. She lived in Texas for a time, and then moved to California. She married, and had her two boys Curtis, in 1975, and Christopher, in 1979. Though her marriage ended, she brought up her two boys in a loving and caring home. She was envolved in her children’s activities and was a board member for OCJAAF Football league. Millie was a mother to everyone and treated her children’s friends as her own children, even into their adult hoods. She was always happy to lend a hand where she could, and her home was open to anyone at any time.
Millie worked for Orange County Social Services for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2010. She became a US Citizen in 2000. In her 50’s she enrolled in college and earned her Associates Degree in 2005. While mostly a homebody, she did enjoy making trips to state line and Las Vegas and getting together with family.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents Cuca Rodriguez and Magdaleno Rodriguez Sr., brothers Javier Rodriguez and George Rodriguez, and cousin Lourdes Lopez.
Millie is survived by her sons Curtis Rasmussen III and Christopher Rasmussen, bothers and sisters Alicia Hernandez, Estella Ruiz, Victoria Pino, Rosie Cochran, Linda Decker, Hector Rodriguez, Magdaleno Rodriguez Jr., and Mary Rodriguez, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
