Helen Mary Adams was born on October 27, 1928, the last of six children. She was an independent woman, losing her mother at nine months old, and her father at fifteen. Helen was a faithful practicing Catholic until she “passed up” at 92 and a half on June 14, 2021, at her home. She relished her home and neighbors in Yorba Linda and could be seen riding her bike twice a day for over forty years.
Helen was many things: a poet, writer, realtor, teacher, raconteur, tutor, musician, ventriloquist, and lover of rhymes and puns. She was married twice and had five daughters, all with the middle name of Marie (Jan, Anne, Lisa, Jessica, and Julie). She was an extrovert and loved people and animals. She had an active prayer life and welcomed new neighbors on her street telling them it was the best place to live.
Helen is survived by four daughters Jan Marie Blee (Anaheim, CA), Anne Marie Amgwerd-Buelna (Henderson, NV), Jessica Marie Amgwerd (Sacramento, CA), and Julie Marie Chang (San Diego, CA), ten grandchildren (Jim Blee, Jason Blee, Justin Blee, Ryan Stockdale, Joseph Stockdale, Kristin Stockdale, Emily Abrishamkar, Laura Abrishamkar, Natalie Chang, Eric Chang) and one great granddaughter (Hana Stockdale). Her third daughter, Lisa Marie Abrishamkar, “passed up” in February last year.
