Hanna was born on August 5th,1932 in the old city of Jerusalem, Palestine. He was one of 8 children and grew up there as the son of an Orthodox priest. He then moved to Zerka, Jordan during his young adult life, where he learned the pipe-fitting trade. After marrying Agnes Shaheen in 1962, they lived near Kuwait City, Kuwait, where he honed his skills as a pipe-fitter, working on oil-refinery construction projects.
He always wanted the best for his family, so in 1966, he received the opportunity to emigrate to Michigan, USA where two of his brothers, Fuad and George had already lived. He quickly found work in Jackson, MI, where he established a home and eventually brought his wife and children there in 1967.
From there on, Hanna became the catalyst for other family members to emigrate to the USA, starting with his eldest nephew Jacob followed by his brother Andrea and the rest of his family for a better life in the US. Hanna and family lived in Jackson, MI until 1978, when they moved to southern California, finally getting away from the harsh winters in Michigan.
Again, Hanna became the catalyst for family members to also move out west. And soon Andrea and his family moved as well, making Orange County their home until today. The whole family has been blessed by Hanna’s gracious and kind spirit throughout his life. He will be dearly missed by family and friends near and far.
