Gregory Reynolds Obituary

Gregory Howard Reynolds, known to friends and family as “Greg”, passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 67 in North Tustin, California. Born on July 28, 1955 in Los Angeles, California to Howard and Berneita Reynolds, Gregory was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend, who touched the lives of everyone he met with his fun, loving and giving nature.

Gregory is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Deborah, his daughters, Heather and Bree, and his brother, Steve. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and family friends and the family dogs Minnie, Kai, Kelani, Kiana, and Koa. He was a proud and loving father, always cherishing the time he spent with his family, and a loyal friend who will be remembered and missed by many.

A graduate of Orange High School, Gregory received his Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting and his MBA in Accounting and Tax from California State University, Fullerton. He worked at the California State Board of Equalization for almost 40 years and retired in July 2014 as an Audit Supervisor. He also was a CPA with a wealth of knowledge who helped many with their income tax returns. Gregory loved music and was a lifelong drummer who served as Vice President of the Orange County Musicians Union, Local 7, American Federation of Musicians.

After his retirement, he lived life to the fullest, drumming with several bands, most recently The Trio Band and The Smoothies with Gary Jones, Allen Renning and George Guidi, and spending his free time gardening and joking with friends. He had a passion for travel, taking annual trips to Hawaii with his wife and daughters, cruises to Mexico, Canada and Central America, and getaways to wine country including Napa, Paso Robles and Temecula. Above all, he had a generous heart and an infectious sense of humor, lighting up every room he walked into and making friends with anyone he met. His relationship with Jesus was a constant comfort to him; he knew that when he was absent here, he would be present with the Lord.

A funeral service will be held for Gregory at 10:00am on June 21st, 2023, at the Chapel of Orange, 215 North Grand Street, Orange, CA, followed by a burial at 1:00pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Ave, Santa Ana, CA.
