Obituary for Gregg Michael Tomchick
6/20/60-12/16/22
Gregg went into the arms of his loving Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2022. Gregg was born in Corry, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Betty Tomchick on June 20th, 1960, and lived in Busti, New York until 1963 when the family moved out to Long Beach, California and then a few years later to Anaheim, California. Gregg grew up attending Anaheim Union High School District schools of James Madison, Trident, and Loara. It was in high school that he found a love for surfing and bonded with his high school friends for life through this sport. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding, both with dirt bikes on family camping trips to the desert while growing up, and in later years “cruising” motorcycles with groups on weekend trips to different destinations. He loved country music, and taught himself to play the guitar, recording several songs on YouTube from his living room. Music gave him much enjoyment, and he had many different types of guitars as well as a banjo and ukulele. He also always loved to dance, and recently became very fond of country two step and line dancing. He went to several local Orange County locations, finding this love initially at Sea Salt on Bolsa Chica State Beach where line dancing was taught, and more lessons and dance outings ensued from there. He loved the many friends he met through line dancing, and a blog was recently posted by a friend about his 13 straight nights of line dancing (see countrydancingtonight.com and search Gregg Tomchick to find this story). Gregg worked for many years as an Account Executive at the OC Register, and then went from there into real estate, becoming a real estate appraiser and real estate specialist. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends, and leaves behind his mother Betty, as well as siblings Mallory (Tomchick) Vega, Cheryl (Tomchick) Endter, and Scott Tomchick, as well as two brothers-in-law Robert Vega and Jonathan Endter, and many nieces and nephews.
