Obituary

Gil P. Castaneda passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023, at Anaheim Regional Hospital. 

He was born September 1, 1938, in Redlands, California. He attended schools in Redlands & Pomona, graduating from Pomona High School in 1956. 

He was married twice and was fortunate enough to have been married to two wonderful women. He was a very good provider & a hard-working man for as long as he was physically able. 

He loved his family & would do anything he could for any of them. He was a father to 5 children, grandfather to 7, a great-grandfather to 8, a big brother to 8 siblings, and an uncle to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was very knowledgeable in most things in construction & was always willing to teach or share his knowledge & experience. He was a very good bowler & bowled in many leagues. He and his wife enjoyed playing poker & hosting family gatherings with good food & games of poker. He was also known for his super bowl gatherings. He was a friend to many & stayed friends with most for their lifetime. He was always willing to give you a hand if he was able. He was incredibly loved by all. 

Survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolina Castaneda. Sons; Randy, Ken (Nancy) Castaneda, &  Ruben. Daughters; Rita Marie (Steve) Sparks and Anna Hause. Brothers; John (Barbara) Castaneda, Mark Castaneda, & Paul Castaneda. Sisters; Marta Shores (Perry Harper), Irene (Ricky) McKinley, and Marie (Eddie) Garnica. Predeceased by father, John & stepmother, Dawn Marie Castaneda, mother, Irene Browski, brother, Marty Shores, & sister, Gloria Hasse.
