Our loving mother, Ellen Whitehurst Robertson, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2021. Ellen is survived by her sons, Leigh and Dana, her daughter Paige, her daughter-in-law Caroline, her son-in-law Mike and her five grandchildren Morgan, Marc, Sarah, Alec and Brennan.
Ellen grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, graduated from Granby High School and the College of William and Mary, received a Masters of Library Science degree from Cal State University Fullerton. She married her late husband Jerry in 1957 and accompanied him to California in 1960.
Ellen was a former Regent and State Librarian for the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed working professionally as a teacher and then as a genealogist which she continued as a hobby well into her 80’s.
Ellen will be buried with her family in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
She will always be in our thoughts and hearts.
