Elba Maria Cramer

Elba Maria Cramer, a long time resident of Newport Beach, CA, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully, Wednesday morning, Oct. 6. 2021, at the age of 92, of natural causes in her home.

Elba is survived by her husband, James William Cramer, daughter, Ninoska Ortiz, her sister, Ramona Garcia, her Granddaughter, Annette Zylstra, her Grandson, Francisco Ortiz, her Great Granddaughters: Lana Zylstra, Leah Zylstra, & Frankie Ortiz, and her Great Grandson, Alejandro Avila.

Elba entered this World on January 12, 1929, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. She was the 3rd child out of 5 children to Jose Castro & Josephina Castro. She became a Seamstress in her youth and had a talent for making dresses, clothes, blankets, costumes, etc. On June 13th, 1949, she became a mother to a beautiful baby girl, whom she named after a famous Russian movie star, Ninoska, because she said the name was beautiful.  She was a very devoted and loving mother.  In 1959, She married James William Cramer, whom she met while she was employed at a hotel he stayed at. She always described the moment she met him as "Love at first Sight." 

Elba was  a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and lived with her husband in Newport Beach, CA since 1959. She was a homemaker & a talented dancer, who had a passion for the Flamenco, a Spanish style of dance. She always loved listening to a variety of music from Country to Classical, & Spanish music & would often listen to it while at home.  She had incredible rhythm & would enjoy dancing at any given moment.  She loved to laugh and had an amazing sense of humor, and an infectious laugh, which automatically made everyone around her smile & join in on her feelings of joy. She was an excellent cook and incredible baker, who would always bake amazing cookies, brownies, and cakes for all of her family and friends especially during the Holidays. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm on October 14th at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 7845 Santiago Canyon Rd. Orange, CA.
