Douglas Bruce Stoddard, loving husband and father, passed away on April 11, 2021 in Orange, CA at the age of 50.
Doug was born at the 32- bed Army hospital in Kagnew Station, Asmara, Ethiopia on January 23, 1971 to Specialist 4 Ronald Stoddard and Mrs. Jeanne Stoddard. His 15 month old sister Sharon welcomed him home.
After coming home from Ethiopia, Doug lived with his parents and sister in Whitman, Massachusetts. When he was young he played soccer for many years, and then in high school played basketball and football. After graduating from Whitman-Hanson High School, he went to the Brockton School of Nursing. Continuing in the medical field, he got his BS from the University of Massachusetts and then his MBA at Northeastern University. He lived and worked in the Boston area for several years, until moving to Seattle, Washington in 2004.
He married Jennifer Velasco on August 24, 2008, and they began their life together in California.
Most recently he was VP Chief Marketing Officer at California Medical Evaluators, Orange County, CA. Previously he had 15 years experience building and leading sales and marketing programs in the healthcare space and developed software and websites for many marketing projects. From a colleague: "Doug was highly regarded by all, and usually the smartest guy in the room when it came to understanding our industry. ... He embodies a great balance of tech genius, marketing savvy, and laser focus on what makes a difference."
He had a great sense of humor and in his professional bio he said that in his spare time he "enjoyed weekend getaways with the family, finding new ways to lose golf balls, and cheering on the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Tom Brady".
He is survived by his mother Jeanne Kendall-Eassa of North Chelmsford, MA, his sister Sharon Stoddard of Port Orange, Florida and his stepfather Roy Eassa.
He leaves his wife, Jennifer, and three children, Brady, Mauriz, Juan Miguel, as well as several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Stoddard of Port Orange, FL.
