Donald Huston Glasgow Obituary

Donald Huston Glasgow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, community leader, and philanthropist, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. He was born on May 30, 1936, in Crystal City, Missouri, a close-knit community along the Mississippi River. Don’s life was marked by love, dedication, service, and kindness.

A proud veteran, Don served in the U.S. Army before pursuing a successful career in department store retail, advancing from assistant buyer to Vice President while working across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His professional journey took him to many countries, yet he treasured the relationships and experiences gained along the way. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, serving as President of Barker Bros. Furniture and later owning a Minuteman Press franchise in Corona del Mar.

Don was an active community volunteer, serving as President of the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce, co-founding the Corona del Mar Business Improvement District, and supporting numerous charities and community projects. In retirement, he embraced new passions such as golf, supporting charities for Special Needs Children, and engaging in humanitarian work in Mexico. He co-founded the Kingdom Builders Ministry and dedicated time to feeding the homeless in Orange County.

Throughout his life, Don received many honors, including awards from the City of San Clemente, the County of Orange, the State of California, and a Lifetime Volunteerism award from the President of the United States.

Don is lovingly remembered by his three children: Kim Baranek and her husband Bob, Sue Harley, and Scott Glasgow with his partner Victoria. He is also survived by five grandchildren—Garret Harley, Brooke Baranek, Carson Baranek, Emma Glasgow, and Lucas Glasgow. Don leaves behind his beloved wife and life partner since 1983, Beverly. He is also survived by his siblings, David Glasgow and his wife Mary, Bob Glasgow and his wife Julie, and his brother-in-law, Dan Osborne.

Don’s legacy is one of warmth, humility, and generosity. He touched countless lives and will be dearly missed. His kindness and service serve as an enduring example to all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Don.
