Donald Brooks Obituary
Don Brooks passed away peacefully August 7, 2024. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island in August of 1937. After graduating from Warwick Veterans High School in 1956, he joined the United States Navy. He spent the last 2 years of service in Japan and was discharged from the Naval Reserve in 1962.
Don, his brother Jack, and his father, John Brooks, established Bondbrook Incorporated in the city of Orange in 1966. The family business specialized in kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and they served Orange County for over 40 years. Don was a true craftsman. In the early 70’s, Don built a boat and became one of the original slip holders in Dana Point Harbor.
He met and married his wife Nancy in 1975. Together, they raised three children, and eventually had three grandsons who were the joy of his life. Don loved to cook. His favorite jobs were making breakfast sandwiches for family and friends on “A” Dock in Dana Point, and making dinner for the family to enjoy around the table he built for their Palm Springs home.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters. He is survived by his wife Nancy Brooks, his children Cameron Reiter, Megan Parr, and Michael Stock, his son in law Michael Reiter, his grandchildren Wyatt Reiter, Austin and Tyler Stock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
