Don William Murray Obituary

In Loving Memory of Don William Murray
October 10, 1936 - July 13, 2026

Don William Murray, 89, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, service, and love for others.

Don was born on October 10, 1936, in Wichita, Kansas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years. During this time, he met nurse Mary Ellen Huck at a square dance. They were married in 1963 and shared a love that lasted a lifetime.

Together, Don and Mary, along with their daughter, Debora, ventured to the Philippines, where they served the Kalagan people by sharing the love of Jesus Christ and translating the Bible into the Kalagan language. They devoted 41 years to missionary work, teaching the people to read God's Word and providing much-needed medical care to the tribal community. Don's steadfast faith and servant's heart touched countless lives, and he never wavered in his heartfelt desire to bring the hope and love of Jesus to those who had not yet heard the Gospel.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Murray; their daughter, Debora Helen Scott, and her husband, Kent Scott; his grandson, Joshua Scott, and his wife, Monica; his granddaughter, Kaylie Barcus, and her husband, Stephen; his granddaughter, Jessica Scott; and his cherished great-grandson, Lee Barcus. He also leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, and countless people whose lives were forever changed by his ministry.

Though he will be deeply missed, Don's family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace with his Savior, whom he faithfully served throughout his life.
