Cesario Lobato Obituary

Our most beloved Cesario “Lalo” Lobato was born on August 27, 1939 in San Elizario,Texas and died in Fullerton, California on August 20, 2025, after a fierce battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the first son of Josefina Paniaqua Lobato and Pablo Lobato. During his childhood he lived in the El Paso, Texas area. He moved to California in 1952 and spent the remainder of his childhood and young adult years in California. Lalo graduated from Orange High School in 1959, then attended Santa Ana College. Shortly, thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army in 1960. He spent the next 23 years of his life proudly serving his country. In 1983 he retired at the highest rank for an enlisted soldier as a Sergeant Major. While serving in the Army, he received several Awards and Medals, including:


-Oak Leaf Cluster


-Vietnam Service Metal 25th Infantry Tropic Lightning


-Chinschwoof foreign military award


-Two Bronze Star Medals, one in 1970 and one in 1971.


-And various other military awards


After retirement he worked at a State Farm agency in Torrance, California for 24 years. While stationed in Germany, in 1961, he met and married Maria Storzum. They were married for 44 years until she passed in 2007. They are both survived by one loving son, Wolfgang Lobato, his wife Nursen and his two stepsons Deniz and Ken and a granddaughter Mara. They all reside inGermany. One year later, Cesario married his second wife,Lai Lai Lui. She helped Cesar fight his battle againstParkinson’s and was with him every day at St. Catherine’s and many days multiple times a day until the end.He is also survived by his stepson Eric Lui. He is predeceased by his siblings, Antonia Bernal and husband Abel Bernal Sr., Ruben Lobato survived by wife Rosalie, and Arthur Lobato survived by wife Cruz. Cesario is survived by his siblings; sisters, Margie Aguilar, predeceased by her husband, Claudio, Angie Irizarry and her husband Efrain, Gloria Quaid and her husband Pat, Rita Bauer and her husband Kimberly and by his brother Pablo Lobato and his wife, Eleanor.


His favorite charities were Friendly Center in Orange and various United States Veteran’s programs.


Lalo was a loving father and husband. He is a hero to all his siblings. He was an honorable man, even tempered, kind and loving. He always carried himself with honor and dignity. He had a dry wit and a quiet sense of humor. He loved all sports. Margie and Juni continued to try convincing him to be a Dodger fan, but he loved his Angel’s baseball team to the end. Rest in Peace and free of pain and discomfort dearest Lalo. Cesario will be eulogized at the Chapel of Orange with a viewing at 10:00 followed by his burial at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:30 pm
