Carol was born August 27, 1943, in Covina, CA, to George and Sally Herres. Carol attended Queen of Angels Hospital Nursing School in Los Angeles where she received her RN. She also earned a BSN degree from Cal State Fullerton and an MSN degree from UCLA. She worked as an occupational health nurse for many companies including Steelcase, Disneyland, and Rockwell. Carol enjoyed gardening, theatre, and singing in the choir. Carol always made herself available to those who needed a sympathetic ear and poured her heart into helping others who were in need. She volunteered her time and donated generously to many social causes and Catholic ministries, such as La Habrá Life Center, Sacred Heart Southern Missions, Association of Marian Helpers, and students of Thomas Aquinas College to name but only a few. She was also a Benedictine Oblate.
She is survived by her children, Michael N. Murdock, Laurie J. Murdock, Maureen K. Doty, née Murdock, George F. Murdock Jr., Erik N. Murdock, and Jon C. Murdock. And her grandchildren Erik W. Doty, Oliver N. Murdock, Lucas A. Doty, and Morgan E. Doty. She also leaves behind two dogs, Fluffy and Duffy, and a few unfinished jigsaw puzzles.
