Carol Gertrude Montgomery (nee Boys) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 2, 2024, in Orange, California.
Carol was the youngest of four daughters born to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Kennedy) Boys in St. Paul, MN on November 7, 1930. Following school, she left life on the farm to live with her girlfriends in Minneapolis and worked as an administrative assistant for Hennepin County. Carol then pursued a career as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines based out of Seattle, where she met her future husband, Jack S. Montgomery. After, Carol and Jack married in 1959, they settled for a time in St. Paul, where their first son, Matthew, and second son, Neal were born. In 1963, when Jack took a position with Autonetics, a division of North American Aviation they moved to Southern California, where their daughter, Mary was born.
Carol enjoyed life at home with her young family and annual trips back home to Minnesota. Once all the children were in school, Carol worked for over twenty years as a school administrator for Orange Unified School District. Following her retirement, Carol remained active playing cards with friends, visiting the gym, and working in the soup kitchen. She was a longtime, faithful member of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Orange, CA.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and her great-grandson, Kannon. She is survived by her son, Matthew (Debra), son, Neal (Lisa), and daughter, Mary, as well as her grandchildren: Austin, Joseph, Chloe, Nicole, Megan, and Kevin, and two great-grandchildren: Olivia, and Rowan.
