Bonnie Ochoa Palomera passed away peacefully at her home on July 5th 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, and the heart and soul of her family. Bonnie was 91 years old born May14th 1934 in Artesia, California, and grew up in Santa Anita, Santa Ana's Jackson Street barrio. She was the second youngest of the six Ochoa sisters, known in the neighborhood for their beauty. In her youth, she worked doing seasonal farmwork and at the original Vans rubber plant. She met Louis Palomera at a Santa Ana church jamaica and in 1955, they were married. Bonnie and Louis would continue to live in Santa Ana until 1973, when they moved with their family to Irvine. They were married for 70 years. Bonnie is remembered as a loving, funny, sweet, and fiery woman devoted to her family. She loved sewing, crafting, and animals, always looked forward to Christmas and family get togethers, and made incredible tamales. She is preceded in death by her first-born daughter, Eva. She is survived by her husband Louis Palomera, her daughters Patricia, Lisa, and Abby, and six grandchildren she was immensely proud of.
