Arthur Nicholas Brock Obituary
Arthur Nicholas Brock
July 5, 1942 – October 23, 2025
Arthur Nicholas Brock was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 23, 2025. He was born on July 5, 1942, at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California.
Arthur grew up in Santa Ana with his parents, Barney and Willabelle Brock, and his siblings, Tony and Nancy. He attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from Mater Dei High School. He was a hardworking and determined young man. His first job was mowing lawns in his neighborhood, and during high school he rode his bicycle five miles each way to work at St. Joseph Hospital.
After graduation, Arthur enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961. He trained as a Navy Corpsman and proudly served aboard the flagship cruiser, USS Providence, traveling around the world, including up the Saigon River. He was honorably discharged in August 1964, just as the Vietnam conflict was intensifying.
Arthur met the love of his life, Carol, during her senior year at Mater Dei High School. They were married on July 30, 1966, and shared 59 wonderful years together. The couple made their home in Orange, California, where they welcomed two sons: Paul and Gregory. They were later blessed with four beloved grandchildren—Gwen, Natalie, Nick, and Karlee.
Arthur worked for Ford Motor Company for 20 years. When the Pico Rivera plant closed, rather than relocate to Detroit, he and Carol purchased a liquor store in Orange. In 1972, they moved to Orange Park Acres, where they ran their family business for 25 years before retiring in 2005.
A devoted husband and father, Arthur loved spending time with his family by coaching soccer, fishing, camping, boating, dirt biking, skiing, and snowboarding. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, offering guidance, laughter, and unwavering support.
Arthur’s faith was central to his life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when many churches closed, he and Carol began attending Heritage Christian Fellowship, where they found a loving community and a renewed closeness to Christ.
In 2021, Arthur suffered a fall that left him disabled, but his faith and spirit remained strong. Carol faithfully cared for him, taking him to the gym and to the park, where he enjoyed feeding the squirrels. Despite his physical challenges, Arthur never complained and continued to find joy in life’s simple blessings.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Carol; sons Paul and Gregory; grandchildren Gwen, Natalie, Nick, and Karlee; sisters-in-laws Gerri and Patti; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Willabelle, and his siblings, Tony and Nancy.
Arthur will be remembered as a kind, faithful, and devoted man who loved Jesus and his family with his whole heart and soul. His life was an example of strength, humility, and unwavering love.
