My mother loved life. She always had a smile on her face, even when she was tired from her three jobs that she had for quite a few years, even when she was lonely after she retired at 76 years old. She liked to make new friends and kept in touch with the old ones.
She was full of energy. She loved cooking and gardening. Nobody on her street had a better vegetable or flower garden then her.
She loved her grandchildren the most. She was very proud of their accomplishments and couldn’t wait to see them or hear them on the phone and also offer them food and money.
With her good heart, she wanted to take care of all animals and birds, and made sure everybody tasted her famous stuffed cabbage. I mean everybody: people at her work, my work, neighbors, friends at the bank, mortuary, cemetery and anybody that came to her house.
She was the perfect mother, that knew what sacrifice was. She moved to the United States so her daughter can have a better life. And with that, she enabled everybody else in the family to have a better life.
Just when she was ready to enjoy her retirement, my father got sick and she had to take care of him, until three years ago, when he passed away.
A few months ago, she finally decided to live for herself. She was ready to go on a long vacation to Romania, when her trip had to be put on hold by the Corona virus epidemic.
Everything stopped, including her dreams of enjoying life.
Unfortunately, her heart stopped too.
I have no words to tell you how much I will miss you! I am shocked that I have lost you so fast!
You were not ready, and I was not ready for you to leave us.
Thank you for all you’ve given me and my family! Thank you for being my mom!
I hope you rest in peace, until we meet again!
