Francis James Kent

Francis James Kent passed away on July 7, 2018, in Long Beach Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. He was 71 years old.

Born in Three Rivers, Michigan, he enlisted in the Navy and served 4 ½ years after graduating from high school.

In 1970, he married his wife Karen, in Long Beach, California and they have remained married for 48 years. After he was discharged from the Navy, they lived in San Diego, Long Beach, Lakewood, and finally Garden Grove.

He worked for the Long Beach Unified School District since 1974 and retired in 2002. Francis was a custodian at Burcham Elementary and a custodial supervisor at Burbank Elementary. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Jacqueline and Jennifer; his nieces Kimberly, Cynthia, and Ligea; nephew Kenneth; and friends.
