Brandy Elizabeth Mayerski

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Brandy Mayerski, beloved by family and friends, on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 52.

Brandy was born on September 19, 1966 in Los Angeles County, and was raised by her parents, Eugene and Judy Gambill, and her dear grandmother Adelaide.  She and her parents moved throughout her childhood – to Maryland, where she learned to ice skate, and to Kentucky, where she loved to ride horses.  Brandy developed a love for animals, as there were always pets in the home.  Her family had cats, dogs, and... an otter.   

Brandy graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree and then from the University of La Verne with a master’s degree in Child Development, went on to work at Montessori as a child educator, and then at Children's Hospital of Orange County as a Child Life Specialist.  Her health challenges as a child – she was diagnosed with diabetes at age 10 – gave Brandy a passion for providing therapeutic interventions during stressful or painful situations to children and their families.  She made a difference in the lives of many.

In April of 2000, Brandy married Russell Mayerski, and the two of them made a happy home for their fur babies, Scruffy and Bella.  She loved to cook, although preferred eating out, and was highly creative with her card-making business, Bella Loca Designs. She was a lover of Kinkade paintings, baking delicious treats for family, and reading fantasy novels.

Brandy is survived by her husband Russ, her mom Judy, an uncle, aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
