Mrs. Mink, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at Wildwood Canyon Villa, Yucaipa, CA. She was born April 12, 1925 to Carroll T. Sr. and Ruth (George) Tate in Bogota, Illinois.
Betty graduated from Newton High School in 1943 and Business College in 1945. On January 31, 1947 in Springfield, Illinois, she married Paul Mink. Dad jokingly promised his bride that if she stuck with him she would wear “mink”. She did!
Along with their young son and daughter, the family relocated to Orange, CA in June of 1955 where they lived the following sixty years.
Betty and Paul owned and operated Paul’s Trailer Sales & Rental and Park Mobile Home Brokers until they retired in 1971. Betty enjoyed many happy, healthy years of retirement. Throughout her life she always had a big smile for everyone she met. Betty enjoyed daily walks in the park with Paul and their dog, gardening, reading, and art. Together, Paul and Betty delivered Meals on Wheels in Orange for twenty-two years.
Betty is survived by son, Gary Mink of Yucaipa; daughter, Barbara (Paul) Adams of Hayden, ID; grandchildren, Wayne (Lisa) Mink; Kevin (Becky Mink; Kristy (Jeff) Coursey; and great-grandchildren, Caden Mink, Gavin Mink, Drew Mink, Ryleigh Mink, Mary Coursey, and Walker Coursey, all of Yucaipa, CA. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul (passed in 2016), her parents, brothers, Ivan George (Catherine); Carroll Tate Jr., and nephew Robert George.
