Anna Ellen Marthens was born into the kind, loving family of Roy and Pearl Hall on January 14, 1913 That’s 106 years ago. Yes, 106 years ago.
She went to be with our Lord Jesus on April 30, 2019.
Anna leaves behind 3 sons, Donald Jr. and wife Brenda from Orange, CA, William and wife Glenda from Camas, WA and John and wife Leah from Simi Valley, CA. 10 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
Anna Married her late husband Donald Sr., on May 9, 1936. They resided in Sharon, PA for 3 years. They journeyed to Los Angeles CA just before the 2nd World War. They raised their 3 boys in Compton, Baldwin Park and El Segundo CA. Her husband Donald SR passed away in March of 1973. Anna has been a widow for 46 years. Through those 46 years she lived in Garden Grove and Orange CA.
While Anna’s 3 sons were in school, she was very active in Cub Scouting and the PTA. President of the PTA at General Rosecrans Elementary School and Den Mother of her sons Cub Pack.
Anna left the Housewife role in 1950, she went to work for Douglas Aircraft, now known as Boeing. Retired in 1975.
Anna had a wonderful 106 years as a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.
Her legacy lives on. She wrote in her autobiography; “What I want my descendants to know is that the one guiding principle of my life has been to treat people the way I would want to be treated., to treat people equally”.
Mom, we all love you, we know that you are living in total peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
