William Gerald Hyndman

William "Bill" G. Hyndman, 81 of Aurora, IL, loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was born May 23, 1936 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Frank and Alice Hyndman. Bill graduated from Iona College, in New Rochelle, NY in 1957, and was a proud Iona Alumnus. He served in the United States Marine Corps for over 20 years and retired as Lieutenant Colonel. Bill worked at Dial Corporation for 46 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Glen Ellyn, IL. Bill had the "gift of gab" and LOVED his Chicago Bears and Cubbies! Bill is survived by his children Lisa, Leslie, Laura and Bill and his grandchildren Gary, Amanda, Erik, Alex, Anna, Katherine, Sarah, Monica, Margaret, and Griffin, as well as many nieces and nephews, and many, many dear long-time friends. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Monica Pappadake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Iona College in support of the Class of '57 Deserving Students Scholarship Fund at www.iona.edu/giving.
