John Loren Harris

September 30, 1937 – August 30, 2017

After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, John passed away.  Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, he lived the majority of his life in Orange County.  John received his BA and MA from Long Beach State University, majoring in U.S. History.  He taught from the elementary to junior college level, but his favorite was always the 8th grade.  Over the course of his teaching career, he received many accolades and awards; including the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge Outstanding Teachers Medal. After a career of 16 years in education, he decided to enter real estate; helping others fulfill their dreams in purchasing a home.  John owned and operated Spartan Properties offices in Orange, Anaheim Hills and Villa Park.  His outstanding success in real estate permitted him to help thousands of clients, from generation to generation. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlene and four children, Patrick, Debbie, Thomas and Darlene. Services will be held at Shannon Family Mortuary on September 29, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
