Bruce Francis Keenan

On June 14, 2017 Bruce passed on to be with the Lord, after a tough battle with cancer.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; the son of Irene and Frank Keenan. At the age of 17 years old he enlisted into the Marine Corps serving 4 yrs.  His company was the first beach landing in Vietnam on March 8, 1965. Besides his 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, he was stationed in Adak (Alaska), and Camp Pendleton (California) among others. The man never stopped working to build a life to be proud of.

 November 1967, his tour of duty was over and shortly after in January of 1968 he met the love of his life, Patricia Bonneau. They married not long after in August of 1968. In May of 1969 they welcomed their son Troy. In May of 1970 he Pat and Troy Left Rhode Island for their new life in California.  On June 2, 1970, he began his career with Lucky/Albertsons. In March 1971, the family welcomed their daughter Angell (Cissy), who would be the first of many native Californian Keenan’s. He became a warehouse supervisor in 1978; he worked there until his passing.  We could never talk him into retiring because he liked to stay busy.

He enjoyed building things and was always in his garage or working in the yard. We've all seen the infamous mantuary porch he built out front of his house, it was his last project. His sports teams Red Sox, Patriots, Notre Dame "Go Irish”, and Celtics.  No one will ever rock a Red Sox tattoo quite like him. Oh, and let us not forget his favorite saying "Don’t eat yellow snow".

Bruce was happiest when he was with his family.  He leaves behind his loving wife Patricia they enjoyed over 49 yeas together.  His son Troy, and wife Adrienne, their children grandson Joshua and wife Jessica, as well as granddaughter Elizabeth (Lizard). His daughter, Angell, her husband Bryan, their children granddaughter Cora, including new additions his grandsons Austin and Dayton. He is survived by his sister Christine Adam of North Providence Rhode Island, and preceded in death by brother Robert Keenan and sister Paula Keenan Braga, both of Rhode Island. He also leaves behind many who called him "Dad', “Pop", "Papa" and "Grandpa Bruce", friends and neighbors, whose lives he touched.

Now he goes home with the Lord to finally rest.  Be assured he will still be watching over us all as he did his whole life.
